Baisi Sthan Temple, Sahibganj
Baisi Sthan Temple, also known as Baisi Asthan, is a Hindu temple, dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Kali. The temple (mandir) is situated near the bank of River Ganga, in Kamal Tola, Sahibganj. The locality near the temple is called Baisi Sthan which has derived its name from the temple and is located opposite the Rani Sati Mandir and close to St. Xavier’s School Sahibganj. Baisi Sthan Mandir is the oldest Kali Maa temple of Sahibganj.
Rituals
The atmosphere around the Baisi Maa temple is meditative, decorated with flowers, and colorful lights at night. The temple is visited by devotees all year round, but the culmination point of their prayers and celebration is during the Kali Puja in the month of October or November, during which a large fair is organized. A huge number of devotees visit this temple on Tuesday and Saturday. Devotees meditate here and aarti is held in the morning and evening.
Devotees believed that praying to Maa Baisi can help devotees get rid of all their problems and relieve themselves from all sins.
