Kali Puja has been going on since 1970 at the Kali Maa temple which is located near Baratalla of Sahibganj town. This year, 53rd Kali Puja will be celebrated here with full of joy and happiness. Near this temple, there is Lord Hanumana temple, Lord Shiva temple and Lord Shanidev temple whose shade looks very unique in the shade of the huge Peepal-Banyan tree. This Kali Maa temple at Bartalla was built in the year 2002 by Uma Devi (Haripur teacher) in the memory of her husband. The permanent statue of Kali Maa in the temple was consecrated in 2003. Even after this, Kali Puja is performed here every year in a grand manner.
Sahibganj’s Baratalla Kali Puja 2022
This year, the overall budget for organizing Kali Puja here is around 1.5 lakhs on behalf of the Baratalla Kali Puja Committee. With this, a grand pandal will be made, attractive electric lighting will be decorated, bhog will be distributed and immersion processions will be taken out. Puja Committee President Diwakar Paswan, Secretary Pawan Ram, Treasurer Pintu Ram, Arena in-charge Raj Kumar Sah, Vyas Paswan, Santosh Tanti, Janardan, Jogi Yadav, Akash, Rajiv, Navneet are involved in many events.
